Virtual Reality FAQ – Everything You Need To Know
Please read through the Virtual Reality FAQ to understand what to expect when you sign up.
WHAT ARE THE RULES OF THE GAME?
Once inside the Escape-A-Torium Entermission room, you’ll put on your virtual reality headsets where you’ll be transported into another world based on the adventure you have chosen.
You’ll have a 360-degree view of the virtual reality world but still see and interact with your team as their virtual reality avatars.
- Your team will need to work together to complete your adventure…remember this is an escape game!
- Stay seated and aware of your surroundings.
- Treat the equipment and facilities with kindness.
- Ask Mission Control for help when needed.
WHAT TECHNOLOGY DO YOU USE?
We use powerful custom built Alienware computers and NVIDIA graphics cards to run the games and Vive Pro virtual reality headsets takes you into entirely different worlds where you’re fully immersed in the adventure and it feels like reality.
IF I’M SHORT SIGHTED OR LONG SIGHTED, DO I HAVE TO WEAR MY GLASSES OR CONTACT LENSES?
Yes, we advise you to wear your glasses or contact lenses.
The virtual reality headsets will be worn on top of your glasses and the distance between the left and right lenses in your headsets can be adjusted to fit your glasses. Note however, that some large frames may not fit inside the headsets. We recommend that you wear contact lenses instead of glasses where possible.
IS THERE AN AGE RESTRICTION?
Recommended age for our virtual escape is 10+.
I HAVE A HISTORY OF MOTION SICKNESS. CAN I PARTICIPATE?
In our adventures, you can climb, jump, and teleport in virtual reality which many people love and find amazing, however for some people, this can cause disorientation. Moving slowly within the virtual reality world will help reduce the likelihood and if you do feel uncomfortable, you can lift up your virtual reality headset for a break. We can also teleport you in virtual reality so you don’t have to move.
CAN I PLAY IF I HAVE EPILEPSY, A HISTORY OF ANXIETY OR OTHER CONDITIONS, OR IF I’M PREGNANT OR AM ELDERLY?
You cannot play the adventure if you have epilepsy.
If you have a history of photosensitive seizures, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress or heart conditions, you should consult a doctor before playing Virtual Reality Rooms.
As our adventures are seated, we have had pregnant women and elderly people safely enjoy our adventures, although they should exercise caution.
