Which Escape Room Player Are You?

Escape rooms mix social experiments, mystery and adrenaline. Everyone plays a role, but do you know which type of escape room player you are? Determining which kind of player your are can help you and your team before their next adventure.

1.  The Puzzle Master

You’re the one who thrives on riddles, codes, and logic puzzles. If there’s a cipher on the wall, you’re already deciphering it before anyone else even notices it. Your strengths lie in pattern recognition, critical thinking, and staying laser-focused under pressure.

Tip:  Make sure to include your team.  You may like the idea of solving the puzzles by yourself, but your overall experience will be better if you include your team.

2.  The Leader

You like to take charge by organizing teammates, assigning tasks, and keeping everyone on track. Without you, the team might waste precious minutes chasing red herrings

Tip:  You can be assertive without being bossy.  Listening to your team, and letting them decide where they fit is crucial to being successful in your next escape room experience.

3.  The Searcher

If there’s a hidden clue, you’ll be the one to find it.  As soon as you get in the room, you’re checking pockets, under rugs, behind paintings, anywhere something can be hidden, you’re looking.

Tip:  Share what you find.  Your clue means nothing if you don’t share that information with your team.  They may have the other piece to what you’ve found.

4.  The Timekeeper

You’ve got your eyes on the clock.  Reminding your teammates how much time you have left to be successful.

Tip:  Don’t panic.  Yes, the clock is ticking, but don’t get away from the task at hand.  Some games will be decided by mere seconds.

5.  The Cheerleader

You might not be the best at solving puzzles, but you are good for morale.  You know how to keep the team excited and having fun.  Don’t lose that spirit regardless of how much time is left on the clock

Tip:  While you’re cheering everyone on, keep an eye open for things that others may have missed.  You might spot something invaluable.
